Paulson Electric Partners with Czech & Slovak Museum to Recover Historic Kosek Building
Cedar Rapids, Iowa-Paulson Electric has been named a partner in the National Czech & Slovak Museum & Library's (NCSML) recovery and renovation of the Kosek Building, located in the heart of the Czech Village in Cedar Rapids. Paulson Electric is designing and constructing the electrical systems for the exhibit, office, and retail spaces included in the building. Working with the museum exhibit and retail designer, Paulson Electric is responsible for providing an energy-efficient design incorporating LEED principles.
"We are working closely with the museum, general contractor, and design professionals to design and construct electrical and alarm systems that meet specific needs for the variety of uses in the building," said Darren Tichy, Paulson Electric's project manager. "Paulson Electric's expertise in sustainable design will lower the museum's long-term energy costs and lessen its environmental impact," continued Tichy.
The renovation of the Kosek building will preserve its historic character and help the community recovery from last year's historic flood. Paulson Electric is participating in a number of flood recovery projects and has donated a significant portion of its time to helping Cedar Rapids get back on its feet.
